Technology integration can improve student engagement and learning. I have to remember that its about the student learning and give them time to reflect and absorb the information. Too much technology can be bad also.

Why integrate technology in your classroom? Students are so adapt at using technology and we as educators need to use their interests and strengths to engage them and allow students to learn.
ReplyDeleteI think that with any new instructional tool, you need to utilize best teaching practices. Don't use all the bells and whistles of the Smartboard and skip all of the research based best practices.
The level of student engagement reaches a greater level.It also challenges the teacher to become more creative and more thoughtful in planning. There is so much to choose from it is essential to know your objective and stay focused.

ReplyDeleteTechnology can increase student achievement through organized and good pedagogical practice. With access to the internet, colors to code, and the ability for students to become interactive with a lesson students can achieve better scores. In my classroom, organizing the vocabulary by color, downloading images, and using the tools provided such as graph paper, rulers, compasses, and protractors has become an essential part of my mathematical planning.

ReplyDeleteSmart Boards and Smart Notebook help me to organize, develop, and create lessons that are most supportive for students of all proficiency levels and students that learn best in different ways. It helps me to get students involved in every lesson and helps students to relate what they are learning to their own lives. Additionally, smart notebook provides so many opportunities to include realia and resources in very simple ways.
Technology makes for a smoother lesson, with everything right there at your disposal. It allows students to be more involved in the lesson and discover different aspects of content. The technology has made me more organized as I go from year to year and look back on my lesson plans. It allows me to have resources at a quick touch and transition quickly.

I find for my students when technology is involved there is little time off task.

With Technology you are able to teach to more varieties of learning styles. With the smartnotebook I am able to present more visuals and manipulative. When students are at the board the other students actively engaged by telling answers or reflecting on their own answers.
ReplyDeleteUsing technology in the classroom has been HUGE for my students and myself. My students want to be more responsible and involved in their learning. Learning and using technology is essential for my students especially those that have little or no access to technology outside of the classroom. By using the SMART Board in the classroom the lessons become more interactive and the students are more on task and motivated to be successful. By planning the lessons in the SMART Notebook, I am planning and more prepared to be an effective teacher.
ReplyDeleteThere are several reasons to integrate technology into the classroom. In my experience technology is a great method to hook students into a lesson. Visuals, Audio can easily be integrated into a lesson to help students make connections to the content. Another important reason is for students to develop media literacy - understanding the positives and negatives of the technology and to help them to be knowledgeable consumers of technology.
ReplyDelete2. SMART Boards and SMART Notebook support my instruction by allowing me to present images, videos and documents on a large interactive screen. Teacher and students can write, note, underline with the visuals in order to break apart concepts. This just one of the many ways smartboard and notebook support my instruction.
Technology is critical to the success of our students. Through technology, students can display their own creative thinking in a variety of ways. They are given more opportunities to display their understanding (using blogs, glogs, avitars, comics, etc.).
ReplyDeleteSmart Boards can allow me to display information in a more visually appealing way. It allows me to save and reference information, that may be unique to the class. Cleanup is also a lot quicker! The Smart technology allows students to be more interactive in their learning. They can manipulate the tools and share their ideas using gallery and notebook. I love it.
Its important to remain technology current and to use and model current tools because the ability to connect with your students is a major factor in creating a learning environment. These tools also allow the class new windows in which to learn and view education that may enhance the learning experience.
